This beautiful Buzzard (Buteo buteo) in the Dutch Biesbosch National Park didn't seem to mind my presence at all. He was found sitting near a road before taking a break on a fence, calmly observing.
The typical flight shape of the Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) with its neck in an "S" form and its long legs trailing behind. This large wading bird from marshes, swamps and shores has gradually made its entrance in urban environments in the last decades. It is a voracious predator that will devoure about anything that moves within striking distance - fish, amphibians, reptiles, insects, and mammals.
