Athabasca Glacier

The Athabasca Glacier is one of six ice sheets originating in the massive Columbia Icefield astride the Continental Divide in Jasper National Park. The glacier is 6 kilometres long and up to 300 metres deep. It has been retreating gradually since 1844 and is now shrinking 5 metres a year due to climate change.
