  • Mormon Row

    Mormon Row

Mormon settlers arrived in Jackson Hole in the 1890s. Two barns are the most striking remnants of their pioneering farming community.

    Wildflowers near Colter Bay

It is believed John Colter, a former member of the Lewis and Clark expedition, was the first European to enter Jackson Hole and the Yellowstone area in 1807/8. It's hard to imagine what this wild area must have looked like to the first explorers.

Schwabacher Landing never ceases to amaze by its picturesque grandeur and beauty.

  • Kind eyes

    Kind eyes

Killdeer, with its characteristic dark chest bands, enjoying a bit of morning sun on the banks of the Snake River.

  • This is my tree

    This is my tree

No matter how tiny, this yellow warbler knows his place and enjoys the view too.

  • Last light

    Last light

The Moose-Wilson Road at sunset. As things go now in the overcrowded national parks, wildlife spotting has precedence over anything else to many visitors. Several stopped while I was taking these shots, only to drive away disappointed as there were no animals around.
